Compound Butter with Oomph

This might be the most beautiful and delicious side dish you will make all year.

We love to experiment with Oomph and this particular experiment lead to a mind-blowing recipe that takes only about 10 minutes to make. These beautiful compound butters can be made in rolls like they are pictured or in silicon forms. The butters are packed with flavor and nutrition and make an excellent baked potato topping, avocado toast flavor-bomb, a way to add "wow!" to popcorn or to add to fish or steak. Add to any table as an amazing side dish.

Prep Time: 30 min.

Chill Time: 2 hrs.

Total Time: 2.5 hrs.

Servings: 8-10

 

Ingredients

 

  • 1 Tbsp. Oomph Cooking Blend
  • 1 stick of good butter, salted
  • Parchment paper

 

Directions

  • Let butter come to room temperature
  • Bloom Oomph (see recipe)
  • Once cool, add bloomed Oomph to soft butter and mix well
  • Lay out a sheet of parchment large enough to hold all butter in a roll
  • Put butter on parchment in a line and roll into a log
  • OR use silicon mold and put butter in molds
  • Chill for 2 hours or overnight

 

Serve chilled.

This is a great way to give Oomph a try! Creating a spread from Oomph Cooking Blends is delicious and easy. Add this to appetizers, baked potatoes, steak, chicken, great for tossing noodles and as a pretty side dish for any meal.

How to bloom Oomph to make a magically delicious spread.

Because Oomph is made from just organic or natural-grown vegetables and herbs it can be easily eaten as a food. You can spread oomph on toast, toss it with noodles, top a baked potato or make compound butter. Ingredients

 

  • 2 tsp. Oomph Cooking Blend
  • 1 tsp. butter / 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • pinch of salt (optional)

 

Directions

  • In a small pan add Oomph
  • Add water
  • Add butter or olive oil
  • Over medium - low heat, stir constantly until blended and bloomed about 1 -2 minutes.

This delicious spread is wonderful to put on toast, baked potatoes, steak, vegetables or to add to soft cheeses. Bloomed Oomph can also be served as a side dish at a meal.

 

Omelet with Oomph

Who doesn't' love an omelet? Adding Oomph is a clever way to creating magical flavor! Add inside as a spread or to the egg as you whisk for yumminess right in the wrapping.

Ingredients

 

  • 2 tsp. No.4 Refogado Oomph Cooking Blend
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. Grated cheese
  • 1/2 small tomato sliced
  • Fresh herbs
  • 1 Tbsp. onion, sliced or diced
  • Ham or tofu, diced
  • Pinch of salt

 

Directions

  • Whisk eggs with oomph and salt
  • Heat your omelet pan, we prefer cast iron
  • Pour eggs with Oomph onto pan
  • Cook briefly
  • Add ingredients and proceed with omelet making.

 

Serve with a dollop sour cream and a side of breakfast potatoes.

Breakfast Avocado Toast

Avocado toast is a perfect solution for any meal or snack but top it with an egg and you have a great way to start the day!.

All by itself this is breakfast. It is fancy enough to serve at a small gathering but can be enjoyed with your favorite coffee or tea while you enjoy a little me-time on a sunny summer morning.

  • 2 slices of whole grain or sourdough bread
  • 3 tsp. No.1 Duxelles Oomph Cooking Blend
  • 2egg
  • Salt to taste
  • Chili flakes / parsley / other herbs for garnish
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed

 

Directions

  • Toast bread
  • Bloom Oomph (see recipe)
  • Spread Oomph on toast
  • Add sliced or mashed avocado
  • Fry egg
  • Top toast with egg and sprinkle with salt and or garnish

A nourishing way to start you morning is with a cup of bone broth. Adding oomph will give it a spectacular boost of flavor and nutrition.

  • 1 tsp. No.5 Three Star Oomph Cooking Blend
  • 1 tsp. of butter, ghee or olive oil
  • 1 cup broth, heated
  • tsp. fresh parsley chopped
  • salt to taste

Directions

  • Add Oomph to piping hot broth
  • Add salt to taste
  • Cover and steep for 1 min.
  • Add parsley and enjoy!
